  PAUL B. EDELMAN                              

Over the past two decades, Mr. Edelman has developed a distinguished reputation in the area of complex litigation, with a strong emphasis in tort and defense litigation, labor law, medical malpractice, real estate and commercial litigation.  Mr. Edelman graduated from the American University School of Law in 1981 and is admitted in New York State, the Federal Districts Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, as well a Washington D.C.  Mr. Edelman was in-house counsel for General Accident Insurance Company, Great American Insurance Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company before entering private practice with the firm of Stangler, Edelman & Binder where he was a partner from 1985 to 1999, prior to forming the firm of Edelman, Krasin & Jaye.

 LAWRENCE P. KRASIN 

A graduate of St. Johns University School of Law, Mr. Krasin is an established attorney in the metropolitan area.  He is well known for his legal expertise in the areas of personal injury, litigation, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse as well as business and corporate representation.  Additionally, Mr. Krasin has experience in the area of property management, rentals, and maintenance.  Mr. Krasin began his legal career at the New York State Supreme Court, Queens County, where he clerked for Justice William D. Freidman. He subsequently served as an associate at the firm of Stangler, Edelman, & Binder and went on to form the firm of Edelman, Krasin and Jaye. Mr. Krasin was a board member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, and served on the board of Walk the Walk, an organization dedicated to the fight against elder abuse.  He devotes time to numerous other charitable organizations as well.

 WILLIAM T. JAYE

Mr. Jaye brings nearly 30 years of legal experience to the firm. He is a skilled litigator, proficient in both civil trials and criminal defense. Mr. Jaye also possesses expertise in the areas of real estate transactions, including condos and co-ops, foreclosures, construction litigation, negotiating commercial leases and handling complex commercial real estate closings.  Mr. Jaye is a partner at the firm and brings a diversified background. He was counsel for Chubb Insurance Company where he handled defense litigation and insurance coverage issues. Thereafter he worked for two major firms specializing in criminal defense, personal injury litigation, medical malpractice and commercial litigation.  Mr. Jaye also has the distinction of working as Village Prosecutor for the Incorporated Villages of Malverne and Manorhaven.  Additionally, he serves as house counsel for the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI), where he advises contractors on consumer affairs violations, contracts and commercial litigation.  Mr. Jaye graduated St. Johns University School of Law in 1979 and is admitted in New York State and the Federal Districts Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

 SAL A. SPANO

Mr. Spano is Senior Trial Counsel at the firm. He is one of the firm’s most skilled and experienced trial attorneys, proficient in all aspects of litigation. Mr. Spano handles the firm’s complex personal injury and medical malpractice litigation, as well as criminal defense trials. He attended St. John’s University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1989. Mr. Spano started his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Queens County District Attorney’s office from 1989 through 1998, where he excelled as an aggressive prosecutor and trial attorney. Since then Mr. Spano easily transferred his trial skills into the civil practice arena where he successfully represents hundreds of victims injured through negligence or medical malpractice. Mr. Spano is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Nassau County and Queens County Bar Associations, and the Columbian Lawyers (Italian-American) Bar Association. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts.

 THOMAS S. RUSSO

Thomas S. Russo, Esq. has been admitted to practice in New York since 1999.  He graduated from the Hofstra School of Law with honors in 1998. With over a decade of experience in the field of personal injury, Mr. Russo has proven himself time and time again to be a passionate, take-charge litigator.  Over the years he has successfully obtained numerous settlements and verdicts for accident victims – including multiple six figure and seven figure awards.  Mr. Russo’s verdicts have been published in VerdictSearch New York and in The New York Law Journal.  His most recent trial successes include a $1.4 million verdict in a construction case and a $450,000 award in a car accident.  Mr. Russo spent most of his professional career as an associate at a large, Manhattan-based, personal injury firm. He worked closely with the Uniformed Firefighter's Association union, and developed a keen interest in Firefighter Litigation and Union Labor and Construction Law.  Mr. Russo’s practice areas include:  accident litigation; construction injuries; slips, trips and falls; automobile accidents; and all other general negligence matters.

 STUART L. KITCHNER

Mr. Kitchner is a trial attorney with extensive experience in the area of medical malpractice and personal injury practice. Prior to joining Edelman, Krasin and Jaye, he diversified his practice working six years with a plaintiff's personal injury/medical malpractice firm in Manhattan, and two and a half years with a medical malpractice defense firm in Garden City, New York.  His experience encompasses a variety of personal injury matters including motor vehicle liability, premises liability, municipality liability and labor law matters. Mr. Kitchner attended undergraduate school at Syracuse University and received a B.A. degree in political science and broadcast journalism in 1980. He received a J.D. degree from the Pace University School of Law in 1992.  Mr. Kitchner is admitted to practice in New York State, the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts and the United States Supreme Court.

 JUSTIN VARUGHESE

Mr. Varughese is an experienced trial attorney who concentrates his practice in all areas of personal injury litigation, commercial matters, real estate, and criminal defense. Born in Mineola, New York, he graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 2000 and with honors from St. John’s University School of Law in 2003.  Since his admission to the bar, Mr. Varughese has been in private practice representing individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations in a variety of litigation matters.  Having acquired millions of dollars of settlements and verdicts on behalf of his clients, Mr. Varughese prides himself on his devotion to the practice law with diligence and integrity.  He is an active member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations, the Indian Chamber of Commerce, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts.

 HAROLD J. STANGLER

A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Stangler has been practicing law for over fifty years. The Nassau County Bar Association recently honored Mr. Stangler for Life Time Achievement in the practice of law. His first partnership was formed over thirty years ago, and he is now senior counsel to Edelman, Krasin & Jaye.  His vast experience encompasses a wide variety of legal matters, primarily focusing in the area of both residential and commercial real estate.  His areas of expertise include commercial real estate; leases and closings; foreclosures; commercial landlord and tenant; trust and estates; and tax certiorari.  His knowledge of corporate law has made him an expert in handling complex, large corporation closings.  Mr. Stangler manages the property holdings for numerous clients.  Mr. Stangler is an active member of his community and has served as the president for the East Coast division of B’nai B’rith.  Mr. Stangler is the father of three daughters.  He and his wife reside on Long Island.
