For most of
us, when we are prescribed drugs by a doctor we assume that the medicine
will work to help us, not harm us. However, dangerous drugs, that are often
later recalled, do slip through cracks in the system.
This may occur when a drug
is not properly tested, when it is prescribed to the wrong patients, or
when it causes a previously unsuspected side effect.
Pharmaceutical
companies are in the business of making money, and that means often pushing
a product onto the market at the expense of thorough, complete drug tests.
Drug manufacturers,
pharmacists, and doctors have a responsibility to ensure that the drugs they
prescribe or provide for patients do not cause harm. Some drugs have
dangerous side effects or have the potential to cause long-term damage.
These drugs are often the subjects of later recalls. While the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) plays a regulatory role in determining drug safety, the
manufacturer is ultimately liable for any injuries.
If you have
experienced unnecessary pain or illness because of a pharmaceutical product
contact us right away. One of our experienced staff will meet with you and
immediately begin the investigation.
