The accident, which took the life of 49-year-old Joe Pentangelo of New Jersey, involved two cars and a jitney bus bound for New York. The chain reaction crash occurred at 8:30 a.m. on September 2, and sent two others to the hospital with injuries. A portion of the tunnel was closed after the crash and diverted traffic faced delays of up to 90 minutes.
A collision involving a minivan and tractor-trailer in the Bronx has resulted in the death of one individual and the arrest of another. CBS New York reports that Jorge Flores has been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. While driving the minivan, Flores slammed into the tractor-trailer, killing his passenger inside. Flores’ condition was reported as stable at the time of the crash.
